During your first SpineCare evaluation, our team of physicians will consult with you to learn about your individual medical history. We will ask you questions to gain a better understanding of the areas that are generating pain, and we may perform certain tests and request imaging for key areas.
Our goal is to gain as much knowledge of your individual case history as possible. With this information, we are able to develop customized solutions for your needs and target the root cause of your pain.
McKenzie Method
At SpineCare, we utilize the McKenzie Method as the foundation of our diagnostic method. The McKenzie Method is also known as Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy. This method is based on repeated movement techniques and its key distinction is its initial assessment component. This component uses a safe and reliable technique to accurately diagnosis the problem. Only after an accurate diagnosis is achieved can an appropriate treatment plan can be developed.
There are three steps to the McKenzie Method of diagnosis. These steps include:
Assessment
Treatment
Preventative Strategy
The goals of the McKenzie Method are to reduce pain, maintain reductions with education and postural/ergonomic recommendations, restore function, and prevent an injury’s recurrence.
ART (Active Release Therapy) Method
ART is an advanced soft-tissue massage technique for problems with ligaments, tendons, muscles, nerves, and/or fascia. Many conditions are treated by ART, including knee pain, tennis elbow, distal fascitis, IT Band Syndrome, Pinpoint Syndrome, SI-joint dysfunction, swimmer’s shoulder, headache, TMJ and more. Overuse of the area in questions is a common cause of all of these conditions.
Managing Exercises at SpineCare
Our team of physicians at SpineCare is dedicated to helping our patients manage and alleviate pain in whatever ways possible. This is why we create living and managing exercise plans that are custom developed for each of our patient’s needs.
We know that no two patients are alike, and that no two courses of treatment should be the same. What may work for someone else, may not work for you.
We take each patient’s entire medical history into account, track injuries and past treatment actions, and also perform detailed evaluations of a patient. With all of this information, we are able to create a custom plan that works to address the areas that require the most attention for an individual patient.
Our SpineCare Team
Our physicians at SpineCare are committed to patient satisfaction and healing. We are also committed to creating a detailed and accurate treatment plan for each of our patients from the very first visit.
At SpineCare, we offer the Two Week Promise. We promise to meet or exceed your expectations within two weeks. If this goal is not met, then we will reevaluate and modify your treatment. We cannot promise specific results, but we do promise patient satisfaction.
