Back Pain

Back Pain Overview

Back pain can present through multiple disorders and diseases of the tissues in the neck, head, and back.  Back pain can dramatically affect daily activities, range of motion, and the ability to perform simple tasks without pain.

At SpineCare, we are dedicated to providing patients with the back pain relief that they need.  We treat patients with pain over all areas of the back, and work with individuals to limit pain and help them resume normal activity and function.

Types of Back Pain

At SpineCare, we evaluate and treat patients who experience a variety of different back pains.  Some of the most common types of back pain include:

  • Upper or mid-back pain– this type of back pain affects the area of the spine that is designed to be strong and provide us with stability.  Because this portion of the spine offers a great deal of stability for the body’s structure, this portion of the spine does not usually develop spinal disorders such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis, or degenerative disc disease.  Typically the most common cause of upper back pain is due to muscular irritation or joint dysfunction.
  • Lower back pain– lower back pain can result from injury to muscles, ligaments, and joints, pressure on nerve roots, and compression fractures.  Pain can result from small amounts of force placed on the spine due to the area of the spine that is affected.
  • Cervical pain– cervical pain is also known as neck pain. It is typically caused from degenerative disc disease, whiplash, neck strain, herniated discs, or pinched nerves.  As an individual ages, cervical pain can also be present through osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis.   The neck is generally at risk for injuries and strains, and can result in pain.

Back Treatment & Care

At  SpineCare we provide patients with a wide variety of options to treat and manage back pain.  During a consultation with our SpineCare physicians, your individual symptoms and case will be reviewed thoroughly. Our team will make recommendations for services and procedures that will best suit your individual needs.

Our main priority is for our patients to experience pain relief.  We understand that it can be frustrating to experience constant pain that interrupts your daily activities.

SpineCare also offers a two-week promise, unique from that of other spine centers.  Our guarantee is that we will meet or exceed patient expectations within the first two weeks.  We work with you to reevaluate and modify treatment plans with one goal: satisfaction.
